Bianca van den Bulk

Bianca is currently working as a postdoctoral researcher at the department of Child and Family Studies at Leiden University. She is part of the Leiden Consortium on Individual Development and conducts research within the ‘Samen Uniek’ project. This is a large longitudinal study in which the main research question is: ‘Why do some children thrive, and others don’t?’ Within this large project, Bianca focuses on processing of social judgements in young children by using EEG measurements. Before Bianca started as a postdoctoral researcher, she was a PhD.-student at the department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry of the LUMC (Curium-LUMC) and the department of Developmental and Educational Psychology. Here supervisors were Prof. Dr. Robert Vermeiren and Prof. Dr. Eveline Crone. On June 2 2015 Bianca defended here thesis called ‘The Affective Amygdala: towards a better understanding of adolescent depressive and anxiety disorders.’
