Emma ter Mors

Emma ter Mors obtained her PhD at the Department of Social and Organizational Psychology at Leiden University in 2009. In her dissertation, entitled “Dealing with information about complex issues: The role of source perceptions”, she examined the influence of perceptions of an information source on people’s selection, processing, and acceptance of information concerning carbon capture and storage technology (CCS). Her research focuses on public perception and acceptance of large-scale energy-projects and how this is influenced by various factors (e.g., trust, fairness, risks/benefits, communication). More specifically, she is interested in the potential of host community compensation for the siting of new energy projects.
